Senior Communities and
Health Care Professionals

Our Music Recreation Program is ideal for Continuing Care Retirement Communities, Adult
Day Care Centers, and any Health Care Providers who would like to add a novel music
component to their activities that engages participants, and provides non-musical wellness

For adult beginners, learning to play a traditional acoustic musical instrument like a piano,
will take far too long and presents a risk to the safety of individuals therefore disqualifying
music education as a realistic option for meaningful recreational music making.  Our “no
learning curve” process, combined with adaptive play features, makes Lowrey a preferred
choice over pianos and other traditional musical instruments for seniors for immediate
feelings of accomplishment and self-fulfillment.  There is no expectation of mastery;
previous music experience is not required.

Music Recreation vs Traditional Piano

Three reasons to consider our Music Recreation Program

, the adaptive, easy play features, of the Lowrey VO,  allow individuals to begin making
music immediately without years of lessons, special ability, or prior music experience.

Second, randomized clinical trials and studies, related to Lowrey and the Lowrey program,
have published specific wellness outcomes (recreation) that can be expected from active
music making.
Health Benefits

And finally, the compatible, self-directed learning process is based on adult life-long
learning principals (andragogy) rather than piano pedagogy.  These three factors relieve the
individual of the difficulty and time required to “learn” an instrument and will empower
them to “play” their music of choice using the Virtual Orchestra.
